Cabin description
The Maison de la Promenade is a carefully restored heritage home from 1890, in the heart of Mansonville (Potton), in the Eastern Townships. It welcomes 6 to 8 guests across three levels, with original woodwork and a covered Victorian veranda. The property has been hosting travelers for more than two years and holds a rating of 4.94 from over 60 reviews. Each level has its own sitting area. On the main floor, a living room opens onto the kitchen. On the walk-out level, the family room features a fireplace, a TV, games and a large sleeper sofa, with direct access to the courtyard and the private hot tub for 7 to 8 people. Upstairs, a boudoir with a desk, a TV and a small sleeper sofa offers a quieter retreat. For sleeping, there is a main bedroom with a queen bed, two bedrooms with double beds, and the large sleeper sofa on the walk-out level. Both bathrooms have been renovated. The kitchen is fully equipped, with a full set of cookware, a Nespresso machine, and raclette and fondue appliances. Meals are enjoyed in a dining nook furnished with an authentic church pew. For entertainment, you will find a foosball table, a retro video game console, a Bluetooth speaker, and indoor and outdoor games. The private 20,000 sq ft property includes an outdoor fireplace in addition to the indoor one. Firewood is provided at will. Also included are a BBQ, a washer and dryer, air conditioning, high-speed Wi-Fi, and a Level 2 EV charging station. Pets are welcome. Bedding, towels, essentials and basic condiments are provided. The large parking area also has room for bicycles and kayaks. The café, the bakery, the microbreweries, the river and the local shops are all within walking distance. In summer, you can enjoy hiking, scenic cycling, and kayaking on the North Missisquoi River, or venture as far as Lake Memphremagog. In winter, four ski resorts are less than 35 minutes away, including Owl's Head, Jay Peak, Sutton and Orford. The house is located 1½ hours from Montreal and 5 minutes from Vermont, with easy access year-round.
