Cabin description

This off-grid cabin sits in the heart of the forest, in the Lake Massawippi region of the Eastern Townships. The area is peaceful, and wildlife roams freely: deer and Canada geese are often seen, and it is not unusual to spot coyotes or even bears, passing silently through. For sleeping, there is a queen bed and, in the loft, a single bed. The wood stove heats the main room, which also features a table with chairs and a small kitchenette suitable for simple meals. The water comes from a natural spring on the property, reached by concrete steps. It is large and clear enough for swimming. Outside, a wood-fired Nordic bath, heated by a traditional wood oven, awaits guests (firewood is provided), along with a separate outdoor shower, also heated by wood. The toilets are also outside, separate from the cabin, in a rustic style. Natural trails begin in the forest surrounding the cabin: perfect for walking, strolling and observing nature. In winter, you can put on your snowshoes directly from the cabin. Even though you feel far from everything, Lake Massawippi is within walking distance. Ayer's Cliff and the village of North Hatley are a 10-minute drive away, and Magog about 20 minutes. An address for a simple getaway, in summer as in winter, where nature remains front and center.
